Official: Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyaan’ will clash with Surya’s ‘Kanguvva’ on October 10
Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyaan’ and Surya’s ‘Kanguva’ will clash at the box office on October 10. The makers of ‘Vettaiyaan’ announced the release date as August 19 today.
Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’ directed by TJ Gnanavel will hit the theatres on October 10, 2024. The film will release in four languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. The film will clash with Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ in theatres on October 10. It will be a mega clash as ‘Kanguva’ and ‘Vettaiyan’ are the two most awaited films of Tamil cinema in 2024.
On August 19, Lyca Productions released a new poster of Rajinikanth announcing the release date of ‘Vettaiyan’.
His post read, “Vettaiyaan reaches the target and is all set to release in cinemas worldwide from 10th October, 2024! Superstar as Supercop! Releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada!”

Earlier, the makers of Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ had announced that the film will release in theatres on October 10. Producer KE Gnanavel Raja claimed that ‘Vettaiyaan’ will be postponed and hence he decided on October 10 as the release date.
However, the makers of ‘Vettaiyan’ have also fixed October 10 as the release date. Now it remains to be seen whether the release of ‘Kanguvva’ gets postponed or not.
Rajinikanth will be seen in the role of a police officer in ‘Vettaiyaan’. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Fasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan in lead roles. Financed by Lyca Productions, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by SR Kathir and editing by Philomin Raj.
