Veteran French actor Alain Delon died at the age of 88. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his condolences while paying tribute on social media.
Internationally renowned French actor Alain Delon has died at the age of 88. Famous for his roles in classic films such as ‘Le Samourai’ and ‘Purple Noon’, the veteran actor died on Sunday, August 18, according to French media.
according to AFP“Alain Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony, as well as (his dog) Lubo are deeply saddened to announce the passing of their father. He passed away peacefully at his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and family,” a statement from Delon’s family said.
Many paid tribute to Delon, including French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron shared his condolences on his official X handle, calling him not just a great actor but a ‘monument’. “Alain Delon played great roles and gave dreams to the world. Sad, popular, mysterious, he was more than a star,” he wrote.
