The Bollywood box office is witnessing three big releases this Independence Day long weekend for the first time in 16 years. The three biggest releases- Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Veda are releasing in theatres on August 15 and this is a great opportunity for cinema lovers.
Sharvari, who plays the lead role in Vedha, has now spoken exclusively to Pinkvilla and shared her thoughts on this make-or-break box office phenomenon. She told us, “I love watching movies. I love this medium and I love the experience of going with my friends or my family or sometimes alone. I love being in a theatre and being transported to another world and I think in India, we love movies.”
The Munjya star further added, “There is no dearth on August 15, whatever genre anyone wants to watch, it is available for you. It is a holiday for our country and I really hope people go to the theatres and watch whatever movie they want to watch and enjoy all the movies. As a movie lover, I hope we were able to have an incredible opening day and all the movies do incredibly.”
Nikkhil Advani, director of Veda too shared his thoughts on the same and said, “I am very proud of the film, regardless of what happens in the big clash on August 15.”

Nikkhil Advani further told Pinkvilla that he did not intend to avoid any kind of confrontation as he had complete faith in the people he was working with. The veteran director said, “Obama said that one thing he always does is to surround himself with more intelligent people. Zee’s role (Tiwari) is one of those intelligent people. She came to me and said there is no better day than August 15 for Veda. At that time, Pushpa was releasing (on the same day).”
“He said trust me, we will work that day too. I don’t question it. I think there are certain people in the industry whose job is to ensure that the investment they have made is safe. I don’t question them,” Advani told us.
