Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Wednesday after the US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, sending crude prices lower on expectations that energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz could resume.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1,359.35 points, or 2.92%, to 47,943.81. The S&P 500 rose 162.13 points, or 2.45%, to 6,778.98, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 675.77 points, or 3.07%, to 22,693.62.
