The United States and Israel will hold high-level talks on Iran’s nuclear program at the White House earlier next week, a person familiar with the case on Thursday said.
The planned meeting follows the letter of US President Donald Trump under the leadership of Iran earlier this month in which he warned Tehran that it had an option to face a nuclear deal with the US or possible military action.
Washington -based source told Reuters that the Israeli delegation would be headed by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and National Security Advisor Tajchi Hanegbi and will meet with senior advisors to Trump.
The source said that both teams are expected to discuss the ability for US-Iran nuclear dialogue and regional issues related to Tehran. Axios was the first time to report on the scheduled meeting in Washington.
Trump said that he sent a letter to Iran’s fierce Western supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who replied that Tehran would not be seen in the conversation.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi said on Thursday that Tehran would consider the dangers in Trump’s letter along with “opportunities”.
On Saturday, Trump began a large-scale military strike against Yemen’s Iran-based Hauthis, which is on group attacks against the Red Sea shipping and warned Tehran that it would be accountable if it does not strengthen them.
Since returning to the office in January, Trump has restored a “maximum pressure” campaign with the aim of separating Iran from the global economy and cutting its oil exports.
During his 2017-2021 tenure, Trump withdrew the United States from a historic deal between Iran and the major powers, who had strict boundaries on Tehran’s nuclear activities in exchange for restrictions.
After taking out Trump out in 2018 and re -enforcing the restrictions, Iran violated and crossed those boundaries.
Western authorities fears that an atom-head Iran may threaten Israel and Gulf Arab oil producers, and promote a regional weapons race. Iran refuses to search for nuclear weapons.
Israel, who is struggling with Hamas-backed Hamas-backed Hamas terrorists in Gaza, has made it clear that it wants to ally with the US on any action against Israeli’s regional arches and miscreants.
Last year, Iranian facilities, including Iranian factories and aerial rescue, carries an Israeli attacks, in vengeance for Iranian missiles and drone attacks, reduced Tehran’s traditional military capabilities according to US authorities and external experts.
