The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded its visa-on-back schedule for Indian citizens by incorporating valid visas, residence permits, or green card passengers of six more countries in the eligibility list. This step allows more Indian passport holders to use visa-on-back features at UAE entry points.

Under the latest order of the Arabian country, Indians with legitimate visas, residence permits, or green cards from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Canada will be allowed to access visa-on-return facility in the UAE. The Arad Nation already had this policy for Indian citizens with legitimate documents from the United States, European Union member states and the United Kingdom.

To be eligible for the program, Indian citizens have to meet the criteria set by the UAE, including a valid simple passport with a validity of at least six months from the date of arrival. Passengers should also have a valid visa, residence permit or green card from any eligible country in the list.

If they meet these requirements, individuals will have to pay a visa fee on arrival at UAE immigration posts.

The UAE has introduced three categories for eligible Indian passengers with nominal visa fee. For a 4-day visa, passengers will have to withdraw the DH100 (about Rs 2,270), while for the 14-day expansion, they will have to pay DH250 (about Rs 5,670). There is also a 60-day visa, for which they will have to pay DH250 (about Rs 5,670).

The motive behind the initiative

According to General Suhail Saeed Al Khali, Director General of UAE Authority for Identification, Citizenship, Customs and Port Safety (ICP), the move to give visas on Indian citizens from some countries align with long -term strategic partnership. Abu Dhabi and New Delhi.

According to a report by Gulf News, this initiative aims to facilitate smooth travel for Indian citizens, providing them and their families to provide new opportunities to detect life, residence and employment prospects in the UAE.
