2 killed, 6 injured in Texas mass shooting, suspect absconding: Report

Two people were killed and several others injured when a gunman opened fire at a park in Round Rock, Texas on Saturday (local time), police said.
At least six people, including two children, were injured in a shooting at a park during Juneteenth celebrations, CNN reported. All suffered “potentially serious injuries,” the report said, citing emergency response officials.
Round Rock Police Chief Alan Banks said the shooting happened at Old Settlers Park around 11 p.m., where two groups were fighting. He said a gunman opened fire, wounding several people.
Banks confirmed that two people died at the scene. Austin-Travis County EMS told ABC News that four adults and two children were taken to a local trauma center for treatment.
“At this time we do not have any suspects in custody,” said Rick White of the Round Rock Police Department. “The search for suspects is ongoing.”
The Juneteenth Festival, organized by a local nonprofit and the city government, featured free concerts by a variety of artists Saturday evening.
Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday celebrated every year on June 19 in the United States. It commemorates the end of slavery in the country.
