TV actress Digangana Suryavanshi has landed in a legal trouble as MH Films has filed a fraud case against her. Digangana is accused of falsely claiming to have hired Akshay Kumar as a presenter for a project. Now, a source close to MH Films has revealed that the actress never introduced them to Akshay Kumar and even has an iPad with episodes of the upcoming series ‘Showstopper’.

A source close to the makers told IndiaToday.in that Digangana has even threatened that she will not let the series release on OTT. Talking about this, the source said, “Digangana came to the makers and said that she will bring Akshay Kumar as the presenter. And for this, she sent some messages to the makers about the fees and everything else. Later, she told that she wants to meet some people about the script and that is when the makers sent the editor with the iPad on which the episodes of ‘Showstopper’ have been recorded. She introduced the editor to Akshay for a minute and kept the iPad with her. Later, after two days, she told the makers that she (Akshay) liked the show and asked for further money.”

The source further revealed that the ‘Veer Ki Ardaas Veera’ actor never shared any draft or contact points with the makers regarding Akshay Kumar’s involvement in the project. “After the discussion, she was not ready to give the draft or any connection to Akshay’s team. However, the makers did not listen to her as they needed a confirmation from the actor’s team. To invest any amount, they needed to meet someone from the actor’s team. And since the makers did not pay her, she cancelled the deal and said that she could not introduce them to Kumar. She also threatened the makers and claimed that she would not let the series release.”

The source further added that the makers have paid 90 per cent of the actors involved in the series. “Digangana has been paid in full. She has been paid Rs 27 lakh.” Digangana reportedly demanded Rs 6 crore to strike a deal with Akshay. However, when the makers received an MoU from her, which they claimed was from Akshay’s team, it mentioned Rs 1 crore as the fee. She then told the MH Films owners that Akshay was in London and they needed to pay the money before he returned to India. Then, on May 29, she cancelled the deal.”

MH Films has filed a police complaint against Digangana under Section 420 and Section 406 of the IPC. Apart from this, MH Films has issued a defamation notice to actor Rakesh Bedi and Suryavanshi’s fashion designer Krishna Parmar. They are accused of making false public statements about the OTT platform’s unwillingness to cooperate, which allegedly damaged the reputation of the project.
