Tumbbad, directed by Rahi Anil Barve and starring Sohum Shah, continues its stellar performance at the box office. Originally released in 2018, the mytho-horror drama has almost doubled its earnings in the initial run. Tumbbad is close to touching the Rs 25 crore mark in its re-release, which is the highest ever collection for any re-released film since 2000.

Tumbbad did very well in the second week, earning around Rs 12 crore

After showing great hold on the second weekend and collecting Rs 7.40 crore, the film remained stable on the weekdays. Tumbbad has collected around Rs 1 crore per day, taking its second week box office collection in India to Rs 11.40 crore. This is an impressive figure for a 6 year old film. What’s even stranger is that it accounts for almost 90% of the total box office collection it made during its original theatrical run.

The total earning of the re-release of Tumbbad has reached Rs 24.10 crore in India. The film will cross the Rs 25 crore mark by the end of its third Friday i.e. today.

Total box office collection of Tumbbad in India exceeds Rs 35 crore

This proves how Tumbbad was truly a cinematic experience ahead of its time. The total box office collection of Tumbbad, including both its theatrical releases, has crossed the Rs 35 crore mark and currently stands at Rs 36.60 crore in India.

Tumbbad’s re-release faces new competition as Devara releases this weekend

Although the Sohum Shah starrer will face tough competition from Devara in its third weekend, it may survive on the low screen count and collect a good total by the end of its entire run. It will remain in the field for the next few weeks, at least till its Dussehra 2024 release. The way it is trending at the box office really defines its success and fan-following among the audience.

Furthermore, the makers are also planning to release it in the United States. If the material clicks in the West, its eventual worldwide office collection will be incredible.
