Trump temple in Telangana village again in focus after US elections

As Donald Trump was set to become the President of the US for the second time, a temple built by a man in a village in Telangana in 2019 once again came into focus, with villagers celebrating the leader’s victory by garlanding his statue.

Relatives of Busa Krishna, who had installed the idol at his home in Kone village in Jangaon district and was worshiping it regularly, and some other villagers cleaned the idol and garlanded it.

Busa Krishna died of heart failure in October 2020 at the age of 33.

He converted his puja room into a temple for Donald Trump in 2018.

Like an ardent devotee, he had installed the picture of then US President Donald Trump in his room and worshiped it daily.

In 2019, he got a six-foot statue of Donald Trump built in front of his house and regularly worshiped it and bathed it with milk. He claimed that he had spent Rs 2 lakh in installing the statue.

Bussa Krishna, who earned the nickname Donald Trump Krishna in his village, also pasted Trump posters and stickers all over his house and wrote graffiti praising Donald Trump on the walls.

When Donald Trump tested positive for Covid-19, Busa Krishna released a one-minute video in which he was seen crying and praying for his speedy recovery. He had also prayed for re-election in 2020.

Busa Krishna, who was taking care of farming on his two-acre land in the village, had said that he worshiped Donald Trump after seeing him in his dream and predicting India’s victory against Pakistan in the 2019 Cricket World Cup match. Had started doing. After India won the match, Busa Krishna’s trust in Donald Trump became stronger.

On another occasion, he cited the murder of a techie from Telangana in the US, which inspired him to build a temple for Donald Trump.

Srinivas Kuchibhotla was murdered by a US Navy veteran in an alleged act of hate crime in 2017.

Busa Krishna believed that he could make Indians realize the greatness of them by displaying love and affection towards the American President and his people and hence he started worshiping Donald Trump.
