A screaming match at the Oval Office, the worldwide broadcast, with US President Donald Trump, is not stopping Ukraine’s President Volodimier Zelancesi. Mr. Zelancesi, whose Joint News Conference and the signature ceremony for a deal on rare minerals, was canceled to leave Ukrainian with American officials, today it was underlined that it is “important for us to support President Trump”.
“We want peace. That’s why I came to the United States, and visited President Trump. Deal on minerals is just one first step towards safety guarantee and is getting close to peace. Our situation is difficult, but we can not just stop fighting and it is not guaranteed that Putin will not return tomorrow,” Mr. Zelansky posted on X.
Moments after his hot exchange with the Ukrainian leader, Mr. Trump said in a social media post that Mr. Zelancesi could return “when he is ready for peace”. Mr. Trump also accused the Ukrainian leader of humiliating “in his funded oval office in the United States”.
“I have determined that the President Zelancesi is not ready for peace. If America is involved, because our participation has given him a big advantage in the conversation. He humiliated the United States to his funded oval office. He can come back when he is ready for peace,” Mr. Trump posted on the truth social.
Mr. Zelancesi thanked dozens of colleagues on social media on Saturday, when Mr. Trump and Vice President JD Vance accused him of not being grateful enough.
He wrote on X that he wrote the words “thanks to your support” in individual answers for about 30 messages of support of European leaders after his very promoted struggle with the new US administration at the White House.
Despite the confrontation, Zelancesi first thanked Mr. Trump, the US Congress and the American people for their support and for their visit. Today again, he repeated in a separate post.
“We are all grateful to the United States for all support. I am grateful to President Trump, Congress for his bipartished support, and American people. Ukrainian has always appreciated this support, especially during these three years of full -scale invasion. America’s help is important to help us survive, and I want to accept it.
He said, “It is important for us to support President Trump. He wants to end the war, but no one we want as much peace. We are living this war in Ukraine. This is a fight for our freedom, for our existence,” he said.
Mr. Zelancesi quoted President Ronald Reagan’s “peace is not just the absence of war”, saying, Ukraine is just talking about and permanent peace. He further stated that a ceasefire would not work with Putin, as he has “25 times broken ceasefire” in the last ten years “.
As a first step towards peace, Mr. Zelancesi said that despite the memory of the bitter oval office, he said that he is ready to sign a deal of minerals and Ukrainian people “need to know that America is on our side”.
“We are ready to sign the mineral agreement, and this will be the first step towards the safety guarantee. But this is not enough, and we just need more. A ceasefire without security guarantee is dangerous for Ukraine. We have been fighting for 3 years, and Ukrainians need to know that America is on our side.
Mr. Zelansky said that “Russia is an enemy” and Ukraine needs to be strong on the conversation table.
“I can’t change the position of Ukraine on Russia. Russia is killing us. Russia is an enemy, and it’s reality that we cope with. Ukraine wants peace, but it should be a justified and permanent peace. For this, we need to strengthen on the table of conversation. Peace can only come when we have security guarantee when our army is strong,”
