In 2023, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 wreaked havoc at the box office. Her action-pack roles in her upcoming lineups with films like JAT and Border 2. However, departing from these, Sunny is designed to play the role of a middle -aged family person, who is allegedly prepared to play in a film titled Safar. It is also learned that the film is targeting an OTT release.
According to a recent Mid-Day report, Safar is different from Sunny Deol’s action-oriented films. The portal’s source revealed, “The film has no action; the source further shared that when Sunny was approached by the producers, he loved the story and immediately agreed to do it.
The report also mentions that manufacturers are leaving the dramatic release for safar and planning to release it directly on digital platforms. He has clearly decided because the film is an intimate and hearty story that revolves around a family. “He realized that such topics are more favorable for a digital platform,” the source said.
The source said that a streaming platform is expected to be finalized by June. The producers are allegedly planning to release the film by the end of 2025.
The shooting of Safar was wrapped in 2024. Along with Sunny Deol, it also stars Simran Bagga and Darshan Jariwala. The film is directed by Shashank Udapurkar and is produced by Vishal Rana.
In 2023, Pinkvilla specifically revealed that Salman Khan would make a cameo appearance in safar. A source close to Vikas revealed, “This is a day -long shooting for Salman and he will play the role of superstar Salman Khan.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is eager for the release of Jat. The Mass film is set to enter theaters on April 10, 2025.
