Housefull 5 of Tarun Mansukhani, led by Akshay Kumar and Ritish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa and others enjoyed a good early weekend at the India box office. Housefull 5 opened for Rs 22 crore, started the third best for a Bollywood film in 2025, with Chhawa and behind Alexander. It made a continuous profit in the weekend, for a 3 -day cum of Rs 28.25 crore and Rs 28.75 crore respectively, Rs 79 crore.
With Rs 79 crore, Housefull 5 took the second best weekend for a Bollywood film in 2025, only behind Chhawa. After leaving Alexander behind on the first day, Housefull 5 showed better trends than Salman Khan starrer, eventually collected Rs 8 crore more. A Bollywood film is unlikely to leave its top position with the best words of the mouth for a Bollywood film. Housefull 5, with a better word than Alexander, will continue to lead on Alexander each day. By the end of its run, it will not be surprising whether the lead is about 100 crores, although it is too early to call.
The top early weekends for Bollywood films in 2025 (1 3 days) are subject to:
1. Chhawa – Rs 108 crore
2. Housefull 5 – Rs 79 crore Appx.
3. Alexander – Rs 71 crore
4. Raid 2 – Rs 49.25 crore (Rs 71 crore on extended weekend)
5. Kesari – Rs 29.50 crore
Housefull 5 has acted internationally, starring Akshay Kumar. With the weekend of Rs 36.50 crore (USD 4.25 million) weekend, the film is gross of Rs 65-70 crore (USD 7.5-8 million) in its full run. If in the first phase of international release, it is believed that Akshay Kumar’s highest grocer is expected to live internationally.
Based on the trend, Housefull May 5 Fancy gave Rs 300 crore at the box office around the world. So far, it is a waiting and clock. Everyone’s eyes are on how the killers and comedies make trends during the week.
