When we think of a smartphone that can distribute Oodles of performance, we often think that it will cost a lot. If there is no 70,000 rupees, something like at least Rs 50,000. But from time to time, and we have seen that often from OnePlus, there are phones that blow these beliefs. Not only they bring top performance to users and distribute them, but they do so at minor prices. OnePlus Nord 5 is one such phone.

In fact, so powerful and well tune is that we have no hesitation in saying that Nord 5 is surely the best gaming phone to buy less than Rs 30,000. And, as we have seen, when a phone is great in gaming, it is usually good on other aspects. Nord 5 is also one such phone. Or as we mentioned in ourselves Review: “If you are looking for an all-rounder smartphone less than Rs 40,000, OnePlus Nord 5 actually distributes, and does so with all its strength.”

It all starts with performance

Among other things, gaming depends on two aspects: the chipset and how much cool load it can run under, and the performance quality with its fresh rate. In both cases, the Nord 5 saves in the Hukum.

The top performance is the result of chipset, which is also paired with at least 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, with an increase in bandwidth with 33 percent higher speed and 24 percent more power efficiency. It is coupled with a new GPU chip in Snapdragon 8S General 3. The graphics chip provides hardware-charged ray tracing for better scenes in the game, something that was mostly found only in the top-end phone. Then is a hardware-supported adreno frame motion engine 2.0, which helps Nord 5 to achieve high frame rates in sports.

Of course, the device also provides an incredible gaming experience due to its screen. The 6.83 inch screen of the phone is large and attractive. It is brilliantly bright, providing crisp and sharp colors. The best bit, however, is the refresh rate of the screen that can reach high as 144Hz, which is more than most of the phone offering this price range. Similarly, there is a high touch-reaction, which burns 3000Hz.

All this tech wizardry is equal to a butter smooth screen and game visual that flows easily. Not all games take full advantage of this, but who definitely offer butter smooth gameplay. Even in most of the scenarios at 120Hz, for example in BGMI, from gameplay to UI animation everything was faster and responsible when we reviewed the phone.

Now a potential issue with the phone that offers a lot of performance can cause heat. But Nord 5, and we found it while reviewing the phone, walks calm. OnePlus says its testing suggests that in Nord 5, BGMI, Call of Duty: Mobile, and without hiccups can handle a 5-hour gaming in demand for titles such as free fire. During the review of Nord 5, we did not play any game for 5 hours – you should not do, children – but we played for one or two hours without any break. Nord 5 held it.

How does Nord 5 manage to be such a cool customer under continuous gaming? Broadly thanks to its detailed cooling mechanism. Now, we have not torn it to check it, but the OnePlus provides some details. Nord 5 comes with a new Cryo-Velocity VC cooling system with a huge 7,300 mm square vapor chamber that covers all important components and keeps them cool. According to OnePlus, the results in real use, the internal temperature of the phone may difference in the form of 4 to 5 ° C compared to other phones in the market.

An all -rounder with too much

It has been our experience that a phone that is good in gaming is usually good in everything. We find that Nord 5 is also a quick phone in the use of day to day. And it is very efficient, using its 6800mAh battery.

So clearly that the big battery in Nord 5 streams us for hours without constant concern to search for a charger. As we used it, the phone easily lasted for a whole day – and often more – even with heavy use. When it was time to top up, the 80W fast charger took the phone from 0 to 100 percent in about 90 minutes.

Then there is the camera system, which is practical and capable. The 50-megapixel main sensor performs well in the daylight, and gives us sharp images with natural colors. Finally, there is software and design. On both these aspects, people have different opinions. Some people like orange, while some like apples. As far as Nord 5 is concerned, we like what we see and use in it. At a thickness of just 8.1 mm, it has a smooth design with matte-glossy finish and a flat display that adds to modern aesthetics. On the software side, the Nord runs on 5 oxygenos, which remains clean, responsible and free from unnecessary blotware. The interface is fluid, easy to navigate, and provides a smooth experience throughout the time.

Among all, it is a phone buying less than Rs 30,000. While the phone’s MRP is Rs 31,999 for its base variants, some bank offers are always available, which brings the price at or around Rs 30,000. In fact, in the upcoming festive season, there may be a stolen deal or something similar to Nord 5. But even at its original price, Nord 5 is a full package.
