Hindi box office introduced us to two new films this week, namely Emergency and Azad. The arrival of the latest releases affected the box office performance of existing films playing in theatres, mainly Game Changer. The Telugu film was leading the Hindi markets until it entered the game on Friday.
As of 18 January, Emergency and Azad remain in the top 2 and Game Changer and Pushpa 2 are fighting for the third position.
Aaptakal and Azaad are top 2 actors at Hindi box office
Emergency, directed by Kangana Ranaut, collected Rs 2.25 crore on its opening day. Based on the Indian Emergency, the historical biographical drama earned Rs 3 crore on its first Saturday. The number of visitors decreased from the first day but the collection still increased due to normalization of ticket rates. The two-day collection of the film has now reached Rs 5.25 crore.
Azad earned Rs 1.25-1.50 crore on the second day, which is almost equal to the first day earnings of the Amaan Devgan and Rasha Thadani-starrer. Set in the world of the 1920s, the film, which stars Ajay Devgan in an extended cameo role, has recorded a total collection of Rs 2.75 crore in two days.
Pushpa 2 secured third place; Followed by Game Changer and Fateh
The Hindi version of Pushpa 2: The Rule has earned Rs 50 lakh on its 45th day of release. The total earning of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s 2024 Telugu blockbuster is Rs 735.25 crore.
Game Changer registered a collection of Rs 35 lakh on its second Saturday in Hindi markets. Starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, the political thriller was released on January 10, 2025. Its rival release, Fateh earned Rs 20 lakh on the same day. The actor himself stars with Jacqueline Fernandez in this action film directed by Sonu Sood.
