Fighter was the first Bollywood hit of the year. Starring Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan, the film earned Rs 212.79 crore in Hindi at the Indian box office.

Originally a Telugu film, Hanu-Man is one of the most successful films of this year. The film’s business in Hindi alone was Rs 52.29 crore.

Teri Baat Mein Aisa Ulzha Jiya released on February 9 and grossed Rs 85.16 crore in its Hindi version at the Indian box office. Starring Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor in the lead, it was a sleeper hit.

Yami Gautam starrer Article 370 grossed Rs 78.12 crore in its lifetime gross at the Indian box office and proved to be a sleeper hit.

The success of Kiran Rao’s film Missing Ladies cannot be measured in numbers. Though the film grossed Rs 21.11 crore in theatres, it made a bigger impact with its feminist story and strong message.

Shaitan starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan was a box office hit. The Hindi version grossed Rs 148.21 crore in India.

Munjya from Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe also proved to be a sleeper hit. The film grossed Rs 102.53 crore in India.

Chandu Champion starring Kartik Aaryan in an unprecedented avatar was a critically acclaimed film. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film grossed Rs 63.56 crore in India.

Kalki 2898 AD, which released on June 27, did great business and emerged as the biggest success of the year. The Hindi version too, grossed Rs 293.13 crore at the Indian box office.

Stree 2, which is still running in theatres, has so far grossed Rs 564 crore in Hindi at the Indian box office.
