Heidi Klum’s husband won her heart by including their kids in his Christmas morning proposal. Reflecting on America’s Got Talent contestant Richard Goodall’s emotional tribute to his fiancée, Klum revealed a romantic gesture from her husband that still thrills her to this day!
Speaking to PEOPLE, the NBC judge revealed that her husband had enlisted the help of their kids to propose. “The sweetest thing my partner has ever done for me is that he asked my kids first if he could ask for my hand,” she fondly recalled. “So he was in cahoots with my kids.”
According to Klum, Kaulitz and the kids planned everything together and surprised her on Christmas morning six years ago. “I thought it was really nice that they included my kids in it,” she said.
Klum, 50, and Kaulitz, 34, began dating in 2018, a few years after she finalized her divorce from Seal, who is also the father of her four children — Leni, 20, Henry, 18, Johan, 17, and Lou, 14. The much-in-love couple got married in 2019.
The former supermodel revealed that she and her husband are taking dance lessons to add fun to the wedding, inspired by AGT contestants Rhythm and Ronnie. “I want to do proper things with him because we want to grow old together. So there are a lot of places where you get to dance and I love dancing together,” she said.
However, she admitted the couple has no sense of rhythm and are stuck on their first routine. She thought they would have moved on from the Rumba to the Fox Trot, but because Kaulitz has trouble remembering the steps, they are still stuck on the first routine. “We started in January as a New Year’s resolution, and we’re still on the first one,” Klum confessed.
