How not to lose yourself in motherhood
Motherhood brings with it a lot of responsibilities and here we are telling you how you can keep yourself in control while fulfilling the responsibilities of motherhood.
1. Take time for yourself
The most important aspect of not losing yourself in the responsibilities of being a mother is to always make time for yourself. Being a mother can be very demanding. Finding time for yourself can be difficult, but it is essential for your mental and physical health. Connect with your family and friends and ask for help to care for your baby while you take some time for yourself.
2. Avoid the guilt of being a mother
The 'perfect mom' voice in your subconscious might convince you that if you spend time with yourself, you are somehow taking away from your child. Learn to always focus on the positive aspects of what you are doing for yourself. Don't feel any shame or guilt in choosing yourself.
3. Write it down
Another effective way to keep yourself updated is to write down your feelings, hopes, and dreams in a journal. Writing down your challenges, hopes, and beliefs can help you pinpoint your needs.
4. Follow your bliss
If you have a hobby, keep pursuing it. If not, find something you enjoy doing, even if it's only for a few minutes a day. Don't ignore your needs and desires amid the responsibilities of motherhood.
5. Focus on your career
Becoming a mother doesn't mean that you give up on your career and goals. You can take a break for a few months to get used to the change, but it is important to prioritise your career.
Being a mother is a great joy but never lose your shine in the process.
