The feature is currently live in the US and select markets, with a wide global rollout plan for July.
According to Tinder, this new feature creates the company’s plans to make dating more social and ally. It says that this idea takes inspiration from existing community-focused features such as Tinder matchmaker, which allows friends to suggest possible matches, and share my date facility. According to the company, both features have revealed a strong user interest in bringing friends to the dating process.
Now, with the new double date feature, the stage aims to make dating more fun, low pressure and more authentic feeling for users, the company says. This feature is especially aimed at the purpose of General Z and Young Millennium users, who are rapidly asking to look at dating as a collective experience.

To use the new double date feature on the Tinder app:
– Tap on double date icon on the main card stack screen
– Invite three friends and create a pair

Tinder says that double date is designed to reduce pressure and small things that can make one-on-one dating feel like a task. With a friend, on their behalf, the users allegedly feel more comfortable.
The company claims that the new double date feature has already shown promising results during testing in many global markets. About 90 percent of the double date profiles came from users under the age of 29. This number, according to Tinder, aligns with extensive dating trends, where younger people often dating as a group activity and appreciate emotional support from friends during the process.
Not only for users – according to the platform, the feature is also helping to promote engagement. About 15 percent of the people who accepted double date inweight were either new users or returned to those who recently activated their accounts.
