In recent times, rumours have been rife about Vashu Bhagnani and Jacky Bhagnani’s production house Pooja Entertainment. Several people who claim to work in the production company have said that they still do not receive their dues.

It was being said that the last few films under the banner cost a lot to produce and their failure at the box office prompted Bhagnani to ‘sell’ the office. It was also said that the cost increase was due to the higher fees of actors like Akshay Kumar. While Vashu Bhagnani clarified that the production house is not shutting down and there are no layoffs, now producer Suneel Darshan has made some shocking claims.

In an interview with a portal, Darshan was asked if the rumour that Akshay Kumar charges Rs 165 crore for each film is true. To this, he replied, “I can’t comment on this because the figure you have quoted seems to be wrong. It seems to be close to Tiger Shroff’s price.”

He confirmed that Tiger Shroff charges up to Rs 165 crore for a film! When asked what Akshay Kumar’s fees would be then, he said, “I would not like to comment on that. But I will say this: Vashu Bhagnani enjoyed a ‘Midas touch’ phase in the 1990s when he worked with David Dhawan in almost half a dozen films.”

He added, “The David-Vashu collaboration somewhere lost its sheen after that. Vashuji was a very resourceful entrepreneur. He made a number of films in the second phase, but in the last two decades, he did not find success in films, even though he found success in his production business.”

Vashu Bhagnani recently dismissed all the rumours. In a statement, he clarified that he will always be associated with Bollywood and said, “I love Bollywood and movies. Bollywood is my life, it is the most emotional industry and people stand with you through thick and thin,” he concluded.

He also spoke about the claims of non-payment. Pooja Entertainment last produced Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ which did not do well at the box office. They have also produced films like ‘Mission Raniganj’, ‘Jawani Jaaneman’, ‘Bellbottom’.
