Amidst several rumours, another report has surfaced about Jailer 2, in which Thalaivar Rajinikanth will make an on-screen comeback as Muthuvel Pandian. On director Nelson Dilipkumar’s birthday, several speculations were made on social media.
According to reports, the first draft of Jailer 2 has been finalised and the team is happy with Nelson’s developed concept. The writer-director is keen to delve deeper into Rajinikanth’s character and has a solid blueprint to take the world of Muthuvel Pandian forward.
The makers along with Rajinikanth have given their approval to go ahead with the original idea. Moreover, the pre-production for Jailer 2 is rumoured to begin in June 2024.

According to rumours, the filming of Jailer 2 will begin later this year or in early 2025, depending on the schedule of Rajinikanth’s next film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
For those who don’t know, Jailer, written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, turned out to be a huge hit in 2023, earning almost three times its budget. The film not only did well in India but also became the highest-grossing Tamil film in North America. The action comedy stars Rajinikanth along with Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Mirna Menon, Yogi Babu, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil and others.

Next, Rajinikanth will star in Vettaiyaan directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. The film will release in October 2024 and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier and Rana Daggubati.
Recently, Senior Bachchan and Rajinikanth completed their shooting schedule for Vettaiyaan in Mumbai. Anirudh Ravichander is associated with the film as music composer. Meanwhile, the teaser of Vettaiyaan has created a lot of buzz among Thalaivar fans.

Apart from this, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is another exciting project in Thalaivar’s upcoming movies. Veteran actor Sathyaraj is reportedly joining the Coolie team, which marks his collaboration with the superstar after almost four decades.
