Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’ saw a sharp decline at the box office for 2 days, with a network of Rs 7.5 crore in all languages. The film performed well in Tamil Nadu, but struggled in Hindi and Telugu markets, in which no release was done in Karnataka.

In short
- ‘Thug Life’ earned Rs 7.5 crore at day 2, below Rs 15.5 crore on day 1
- The Tamil version was stable with overall occupancy of 31.41 percent
- Hindi version recorded only 6.48 percent lower occupancy rate
After a decent beginning, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Thug Life’ took a meditation at the box office on 2 days.
According to Sacnilk’s initial estimates, the film on Friday collected a network of Rs 7.5 crore in all languages of India. The film saw a noticeable decline compared to its Rs 5.5 crore net opening day collection. It brings its total earnings for Rs 23 crore in two days.
The Tamil version of the film kept stable in its home state, showing 31.41 percent of the overall command. Chennai led the charge at the night show with 59 percent occupation, while areas such as Madurai and Coimbatore lived around 25–30 percent.
However, the film faced a difficult time in non-tamil markets. The Hindi version also reduced 6.48 percent occupancy with minimal traction in the evening show. The Telugu version improved slightly at 14.17 percent, but still decreased by expectations for the PAN-India release.
Despite its star-stamped actors, including Trisha Krishnan, Silambarson, Aishwarya Lectmi, Jujo George and Ali Fazal, the film has fought to move beyond its main Tamil audiences.
‘Thug Life’ still has a long way to achieve its speed at the box office. Its performance has been particularly impressed by the film not released in Karnataka after Kamal Haasan’s controversial remarks on Kannada language.
The weekend is going on in the weekend, all the eyes are now on whether the word-mouth and fan support can help to bounce back back and fulfill its high expectations.
