Thudram, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, is recording a brilliant box office run and a storm has been a storm since hitting theaters. The film recently hit a mark of Rs 200 crore globally and is now on the verge of crossing a mark of Rs 225 crore.
Meeting with positive words-mouth, Thudram made a gross rake of about Rs 222 crore at the box office around the world in 24 days of his dramatic run. It came to a storm for about Rs 110 crore in its domestic turf, while the rest of India made a gross contribution of Rs 19.3 crore.
The film also performed very well in international markets and performed more than 10.84 million (gross of Rs 92.7 crore) by the end of its 4th weekend. While the film emerged as the second best artist abroad, only behind the L2 Empuraan (USD 16 million), it captured the third place in the highest -grossing Malayalam films worldwide. The first two spots are L2 Empuraan (Rs 265 crore) and Manjmel Boys (Rs 242 crore).
Mohanlal starrer will reach a mark of Rs 225 crore in one -two days. It will be interesting to see whether this Manjmel can cross the last cum of boys. For The Anward, The Family Entertainer became the most profitable Big Star film in Malayalam cinema in recent times.
