It seems that superstar Mohanlal is ready to set up the re -running box office meter in Kerala, and this time, it is not with a large -scale entertainer such as Emapuran, but a crime drama that silently attracts the attention of film lovers. Directed by Thruun Murthy and supported by producer M Renjith, this Friday provides a very different shade of Thudram superstar, and it can also be the leading cause of a strong opening on day 1.
After the storm that L2: Emapuran built earlier this year, it is natural that expectations are high. The film, which rides on Lucifer’s success, came to a storm with an early day of Rs 14 crore through Kerala and eventually for about Rs 265 crore worldwide, more than Rs 86 crore from Kerala alone. Now, with Thudram, Mohanlal is not chasing the number, but he is still going for a solid first day.
Advance Booking for Thudaram already tells a promising story. In Kerala alone, Rs 2.33 crore, only after L2: Emapuran and day 1 is predicted in 3.5 to 4 crore range range. For a slow burn drama with no franchise goods and minimal marketing blitz, this is a major win.
The trailer played a big role in building this discussion. This is just enough to keep the audience tilted without spoiling the mystery of the film. With a conspiracy walking around Shanmugham, a taxi driver is emotionally attached to his black ambassador car, the film has made mystery, apathy and some deep personal promises. Mohanlal-Shobana Pairing is also falling in love with fans. The show is already having positive reviews from early audiences with the show, thudram may be an unexpected hit that grows with every show.
Forget the attractive pomp but it is running in theaters with matter and soul. And with its look, Kerala is ready to take that ride.
