Salman Khan’s father and screenwriter Salim Khan is one of the stalwarts of the Hindi film industry. Apart from being a prolific storyteller, Khan is also known for wearing his heart on his sleeve. During a previous conversation, he once openly addressed anger issues and expressed his desire to pass on his patience and anger management skills to his children.
In the first interview with Zoom, hosted by actress Pooja Bedi, Salim Khan was asked about one quality he wanted his children to adopt. In response he immediately said, “Patience and anger management.”
He further explained, “I think anger is a good emotion if it is channeled in the right way. Anger is a genetic problem that children also have and they will also learn to control it because it is a harmful thing, especially after drinking alcohol. If they can’t control their drinking, they should eliminate it from their lives.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with Live Mint in 2012, Salman Khan had also addressed his anger issues and his struggle to control it. “Very angry. My aneurysm is also due to my anger,” he admitted. According to Khan, anger does not mean picking up a bottle and hitting it on someone’s head. However, his anger combined with major anger issues or BP problems can make it go away very fast.
He mentioned that for him anger is something when someone doesn’t feel right and wants to do something about it but is unable to do anything about it.
Legendary screenwriter Salim Khan has two wives, Salma Khan and Helen, whom he married in the 1960s and 1980s respectively. He has four children with Salma – Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and a daughter Arpita Khan with Helen.
On the professional front, a documentary based on the illustrious career of the iconic duo, Salim-Javed, was released on Amazon Prime Video last year.
Meanwhile, Salman will next be seen in AR Murugadoss’s Sikandar opposite Rashmika Mandanna. It also stars Satyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal and Sharman Joshi in lead roles. The film, backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, is set to release in theaters on Eid later this year.
