Shahrukh Khan and Kajol are not only Bollywood’s favorite on-screen couple, they also share a good friendship in real life. There was a time when Kajol had given a befitting reply to the speculations of not getting along with Shahrukh and her husband and actor Ajay Devgan by sharing an interesting anecdote.
In an interview with ABP News in 2015, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol sat for a promotional interview for Dilwale. During the conversation, while addressing the discussion, the actress clearly refuted all the rumors that King Khan and Devgan are not on good terms.
She said, “I want to make it clear. Just because they are not friends. Just because Shah Rukh and Ajay Devgan have not been seen drinking together at parties, or have not been seen together at any party, together Have not done any film in India, do not meet in any public place. On the spot, and did not meet or shake hands, it does not mean that they are enemies.
Kajol revealed that she is not going to do Dilwale. She argued, expressing her concern about managing long outdoor dates with the children at home, while her husband’s dates were also about to begin in a few days. The actress revealed that it was her husband who assured her to do the film and not to worry.
She added, “He said he would adjust his dates and stay home. I think that in itself shows there is absolutely no truth to what you’re saying.”
For those unaware, rumors of an alleged rift started in 2012 when Ajay Devgan’s Son of Sardar and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan clashed at the box office. Addressing the clash during a press conference, the Singham Again star had mentioned that he never had a fight with King Khan. He said that he and his wife maintain their equation individually.
He further added that Shahrukh reminded him in a professional manner that he was also the producer of Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Since he was also on the other side of the firing line, Devgan was also fighting against him at the box office.
He had said, “They (Adi and he) made no effort to correct what they did wrong. That’s why there is no equation between Shahrukh and me.”
Notably, years later, Shahrukh and Ajay united for a brand endorsement.
