Throwback: When Ice Spice revealed he cried after getting an offer to work with Taylor Swift

Billionaire singer and artist Taylor Swift has undoubtedly become one of the most important, sensational and influential pop icons of today. From Prince William to actresses like Blake Lively and rappers like Snoop Dogg and Flavor Flav, everyone is her biggest fan – known as Swifties.

Out of all the A-list names, rapper Ice Spice also joined the list. In February 2023, she appeared on the Today Show couch where she spoke about the opportunity to work with Taylor Swift on Karma (Remix). Ice Spice said that she cried when she found out about this.

“When I heard about it, I started crying,” Spice said. “I thought, ‘No, you’re lying. That’s not true!’ I was so emotional; it was tears of joy, of course. But, just grateful — iconic,” she said, according to a throwback article from Billboard.

Karma (Remix) was released as part of Swift’s Midnights extended edition in May 2023. The pair performed the collaboration for the first time a few days later at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during the Eras Tour, and the track debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

On the other hand, the pop icon told Spotify in 2023 that she had been a fan of the 24-year-old singer and had hummed her tracks while she was on tour.

“Working with Ice Spice on ‘Karma’ was one of the most natural things that ever happened to me,” Swift said at the time. “I was constantly listening to him, like when I was getting ready for my[Eras]tour; I was constantly listening to Ice Spice,” she said, according to Billboard.

Taylor Swift’s concerts (Eras Tour) have become an enduring phenomenon over time and have established a special significance in the field of pop culture.

On July 9, 2024, Swift celebrated her 113th show of the Eras Tour by singing many of her best-known songs to a Swiss audience, including Right Where You Left Me from Evermore.

Prior to her shows in Switzerland, Swift performed in Amsterdam for three nights. On July 6, her boyfriend Travis Kelce was also there to cheer on his lovely girlfriend.
