Anushka Sharma, who has been married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli for over six years and is a mother to two children, daughter Vamika and son Akay, has continued her acting career even after marriage with films such as Pari, Sanju, Sui Dhaaga and Zero. However, there was a time when she shared her intention to stay away from work and start a family after marriage.
In a 2012 interview with Simi Grewal on India’s Most Desirable, a 23-year-old Anushka Sharma shared her thoughts on marriage and career, saying that once she found the right partner, she would prefer to focus on family rather than work. Her outlook on the subject has changed considerably since then.
In the clip, Simi Grewal asks Anushka Sharma about the importance of marriage. The actress replies, “Very important. I want to get married. I want to have kids. And, once I get married, I probably won’t want to work.”
Anushka Sharma met cricketer Virat Kohli during an ad shoot and their relationship soon blossomed into love. They got married in December 2017 in a lavish ceremony at Lake Como, Italy. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Vamika, on January 11, 2021 and their second son Akay on February 15, 2024.
Anushka and Virat are a perfect couple who constantly show their love for each other in public. Anushka often goes to watch cricket matches to cheer for her husband, while the couple is also spotted going on dates and spending quality time with their kids. Their strong bond and family life highlights their close and loving relationship.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Anushka Sharma’s last on-screen appearance was in Aanand L Rai’s 2018 film Zero, in which she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
