Alia Bhatt, who started her career with Karan Johar’s directorial venture Student of the Year in 2012, is one of the most talented and successful actresses in recent times. Alia has worked with many leading male actors in Bollywood, including her husband Ranbir Kapoor as well as Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor and many others. The actress once claimed that she has better on-screen chemistry with Varun than Ranveer.
Let’s go back a little. On Koffee With Karan season 7, Alia Bhatt sat on the couch with her Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani co-star Ranveer Singh. During the famous rapid-fire round, director and show host Karan Johar asked Alia to choose between Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh, with whom she shares great on-screen chemistry.
Before Alia could answer, Ranveer intervened and suggested her to take his name. Calling it a tough question, the actress first mentioned Ranveer and said that they have great chemistry. Alia then changed her answer and said, “Varia (Varun and Alia) fans will be very upset. Varun and I have the best chemistry.”
Ranveer, who was clearly surprised, stood up and was about to leave the show before KJo called him back. The Gully Boy actor asked the makers to send him an edited version of the episode. He returned to the couch saying that she was crazy for calling Ranbir Kapoor a better dancer than him and that she has great chemistry with Varun.
Ranveer called Alia “dost ke naam pe kalank”, which roughly means a stigma in the name of a friend. Ranveer’s reference to Alia choosing her husband over his dancing skills.
During the same round, Alia Bhatt was asked which quality Ranbir has that he doesn’t. The Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani actress called Ranbir “punctual” and said that her Brahmastra co-star dances effortlessly unlike Ranveer.
Let us tell you that Alia Bhatt has worked with Varun Dhawan in films like Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Kalank. Alia now has films like Jigra, Alpha and Love and War in the pipeline.
