Shahrukh Khan was reportedly in discussions with Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik for a project titled Chamunda. Earlier, Pinkvilla had reported that talks are going on with Alia Bhatt for the same film. Unfortunately, recent updates suggest that Shah Rukh Khan has rejected the project citing his preference of not joining an already established cinematic universe.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh Khan was approached to play the lead role in Chamunda, the project will be a significant installment in the horror-comedy universe of Maddock Films. A source revealed that the film, directed by Amar Kaushik and starring Alia Bhatt, was a priority for Maddock, who was keen to cast Shah Rukh Khan. However, the collaboration did not succeed.
The source further revealed that Shah Rukh Khan preferred not to join an already established cinematic universe and expressed interest in starting a new project with Maddock and Amar Kaushik.
He reportedly asked them to present a unique concept in an unknown genre, leading the duo to explore other options for Chamunda. He looks forward to collaborating with the actor in a new venture in the future.
Additionally, it was also revealed that Chamunda was one of the many projects that Dinesh Vijan had pitched to Shah Rukh Khan, but their plans did not match.
Meanwhile, Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King alongside Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan. Production is set to begin in March 2025 and is expected to be finished by mid-2025. Meanwhile, Aditya Chopra plans to start shooting for Pathan 2 in late 2025 or early 2026. Pinkvilla had earlier reported that the schedule of both the action-packed films has already been outlined.
On the other hand, Aaliya has an alpha with Sharvari. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War in the pipeline with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
