American actor Milo Ventimiglia, best known for NBC’s This Is Us, revealed that the Palisades fire reduced his Malibu home to ashes. Becoming emotional in an interview, he explained that he and his wife were preparing for the arrival of their child, with most of the preparations already done.

talking to CBS News On January 9, Milo Ventimiglia, who played Jack Pearson alongside Mandy Moore’s Rebecca Pearson on This Is Us, shared that he was feeling “overwhelmed” after losing his home in a wildfire.

Expressing grief over the loss, he said, “You start thinking about all the memories and different parts of the house and whatnot, and then you look at your neighbors’ houses and everything around and your heart breaks. Breaks.”

Milo, who was also seen on Gilmore Girls, added, “I think there’s kind of a shocking moment where you’re going, ‘Oh, this is real, this is happening.’

Milo Ventimiglia and his pregnant wife, Zarah Mariano, evacuated their Malibu home on January 7 as flames quickly engulfed their neighborhood, watching the destruction on security cameras. The 47-year-old father-to-be said, “And at a certain point, we just turned it off. What’s the point in watching? We’ve kind of accepted the loss.”

Holding back tears, Milo shared that everything was a “toast”, including all the arrangements for her unborn child. Milo said, “My life hasn’t been wasted on copying memories. We’ve got good friends and good people to work with and do things with. The wife, the kid and the dog are the most important.”

On the hit show This Is Us, Milo and Mandy’s characters, Jack and Rebecca, a married couple with three children, also lost their home in a fire.
