Actor Karthi has officially shot for his much awaited film ‘Sardar 2’, which is the sequel to the 2022 spy action thriller ‘Sardar’. PS directed by Mithran, who also influenced the first installment, promises to extend bets in the sequel franchise’s detective story. The producers announced the completion of the shooting of the film last week.

In a post on X, Malvika Mohanan posted photos from the set of ‘Sardar 2’ with Karthi and shared a hearty note. The caption reads, “And this is a rap for Sardar 2! I started this project with the most challenging program of the film and finished it with the funniest program in Bangkok. What is a crazy ride! Karthi is a full gem to work with you. Who knew that I am doing a lot. (SIC).”

Meiyazhagan actor Karthi announced the rap by uploading photos with the entire team of ‘Sardar 2’ on 7 June, celebrating the completion of the shooting while cutting a cake. His caption reads, “Sardar 2 – This is a wrap! Is there an adventure !!”.

The upcoming film saw Karthi reiterating his dual role as an old undercover detective and his police officer son from where it was originally released. The sequel also stars Malavika Mohanan, SJ Surya and Rajisha Vijayan. Music for ‘Sardar 2’ is composed by Sam CS, known for his work on ‘Kathy’. The manufacturers had earlier released a small teaser that indicated on another action-pack installment.

While an official release date is yet to be announced, ‘Sardar 2’ will be a hit in theaters later this year. The film will be released in five languages ​​- Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada – expanding their reach beyond the Tamil audience. With PS Mithran director returning to the chair, expectations are more that the sequel will survive for the success of the origin.
