The second part of the fifth and final season of Yellowstone is nearing its release, and fans are waiting to see the final showdown of the series. Over the past four seasons, fans have seen conflict, cowboy fun, and sometimes murder among the Dutton family. So far in the series, Dutton family patriarch John (Kevin Coster), Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) and Colby Mayfield (Denim Richards) have died.
Will the series of deaths continue in the fifth season? While nothing can be predicted about the show’s ending, it may be headed in a direction. So far, we’ve seen Beth lose everything, except the farm, in her attempt to save the family farm.
So, this could possibly be the next step for the Dutton siblings. Will the series end with someone else taking over the Dutton family legacy? There is a lot to see in the final episode. Show creator Taylor Sheridan told Entertainment Weekly on the ending, “It’s not what you think it’s going to be; there’s something very exciting about it.” “There’s a real poetry in it.”
In a previous interview with the outlet, Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce on the show, talked about the “profound and beautiful” ending of Yellowstone. “I feel like I’m part of the audience because I’m constantly wondering what’s going to happen next,” he said at the time. “I never knew until I started getting scripts right before shooting.”
Wes Bentley, who plays Jamie Dutton, admitted that having a proper finale to a show is a blessing in the entertainment industry. He added, “A lot of great shows haven’t ended.”
After being in the industry for years, Bentley finds himself and the cast of Yellowstone “fortunate” to get a satisfying ending. He added, “But it didn’t surprise me because everyone brought their A game to this show.”
Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth, echoed her sentiment and said in her statement that everyone put “so much of themselves” into the show because it meant something to everyone. “I hope audiences feel that these characters and this show have an ending worthy of their investment. I hope it gets off the ground.”
