Actor Sunny Kaushal is receiving praise for his performance in the film Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba starring Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey. Sunny has previously worked in films like Gold, Shiddat, Hurdang, Mili and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga. The actor recently said that he is waiting for the ‘Zanjeer’ moment in his career.
In a new interview with PTI, Sunny Kaushal reveals that he aspires to achieve the kind of success Amitabh Bachchan enjoyed after starring in the 1973 film Zanjeer.
Like every other actor who dreams of big success, Sunny too wants to get that one breakthrough role which he calls the “Zanjeer moment”.
Sunny said, “Every actor is waiting for that one film that will give them the opportunity to take the next step and explore more about themselves.”
Sunny Kaushal’s statement came when he was asked if he was waiting for his ‘Uri’ moment. This was a reference to Uri: The Surgical Strike, which is one of his brother, actor Vicky Kaushal’s most successful films to date.
Then came the Haseen Dillruba actor who called it his “Zanjeer moment”. For those who don’t know, this 1973 film starred Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri (now Bachchan) in the lead roles. This film marked the beginning of Big B’s career after a string of flops.
Sunny Kaushal believes that success allows actors to take on risky projects in their careers.
The Shiddat actor further added that it is a good thing that actors stay on the edge even when they are standing against a wall. He said that this keeps them alive.
The 34-year-old actor said he wants to be “thrown in the deep end” and admitted that the actor has been waiting for that moment to come in his life.
In the same interview, Sunny Kaushal, who believes in accepting constructive criticism, also revealed the advice that helped him improve his acting skills. Sunny shared that once a casting director was impressed with his performance, except for the fact that he told the actor that his “eyes don’t speak”.
Sunny said she was 24 at the time and later improved herself by “working on it”.
Then came Haseen Dillruba, a sequel to the 2021 film Haseen Dillruba, which starred Taapsee, Vikrant and Harshvardhan Rane in the lead roles. The sequel was released on August 9 this year.
