AMC has announced that The Walking Dead: Derel Dixon season 3 will premiere on Sunday, 7 September at ET/PT at 9 pm on AMC and AMC+. This new season would be picked up after the Book of Carroll events, wrapped in France with Deril and Carroll’s reunion.
Now, the story went to Spain, where season 3 was also shot. Shorener David Zabel shared with the Hollywood reporter, “We loved the experience of going to France, and we wanted to continue to do so. At the level of a story, the characters should not simply do. It should be a road show.”
What’s next for Derryl Dixon? Plot predispositions and spoils
Season 3 Derryl Dixon (Norman Reids) and Carroll Palatier (Melissa McBrid) continue to travel as emotional and physical travel as they try to return home. But instead of getting closer, their journey takes them away, pushing them into unfamiliar and dangerous areas across Europe.
The official logline of AMC for The Walking Dead: Derel Dixon Seas 3 states: “As they struggle to find their way back, the path wanders far away, sometimes transforms them through distant land with changing and unfamiliar conditions because they see various effects of walker apocalypse.”
Zabel said that Derryl and Carroll’s nomadic journey is important for the story of the show: “They have to move forward to return home. At the end of season two, they are going somewhere. It’s not a straight line. It is considered the idea that the characters to struggle and try.”

New faces in season 3: meet new artists
Derryl Dixon season 3 introduced members of several new artists, which expand the story with fresh characters. Regularly joining the series:

Additional actors include Candela Sita, Hugo Erbuse, Gita Fernandez, Gonjalo Buza, Hada Neto, Yasmine Othaman, Kuqos Yusin and Stephen Merchant.
AMC dropped the 36-second teaser for season 3 during The Walking Dead: Dead City season finale. The preview gives fans a glimpse of deril and carol in the new, rigid environment, still fighting to survive. The teaser sets the tone with a simple yet intensive message: “The road house is cruel and the fight to survive is far away.”
