Royals, now streaming on Netflix, drawing mixed reactions online. Starring Ishan Khat and Bhumi Pednekar, the show mixes royalty with romance in a contemporary setting. Set against grand palaces and modern offices, the story brings a prince together and an independent independent CEO together. Released on May 9, 2025, the show is directed by Priyanka Ghosh and Nupur Aghna and produced by Pritish Nandi Communications.
In Royals, Ishaan Khatar played the role of Rajkumar Aviraj Singh, who is trying to find meaning beyond a young royal tradition. Bhumi Pednekar depicted Sophia Shekhar, a non-resident businessman, whose company is a partner with Rajkumar’s family. His world collides, Egos Clash, but finally, Love found his way. Fans on social media have been buzzing with reactions since the premiere.
A fan shared his love for the soundtrack, wrote, “The music in the royals was very good and I am completely obsessed with this sequence, the choice of song – my favorite!” The comment reflects general appreciation for the show’s score, which makes many feel the major moments in the entire series.
Another audience was clearly affected by the performance of Ishaan. “Ishaan Khat Royals have all kinds of unforgettables. Buding, bold, and beautifully humans. She is actually the heart of Bollywood’s new era. Nora Fati is really shaking Bollywood!” The user wrote. Nora Fatehi, who appeared in a cameo, also got his applause to add glamor to the show.
However, not everyone was affected. A tweet states, “#Theroyals: There were a lot of expectations, but the end and writing ruined it. It was only seen because of royal aesthetics, because the show has nothing to give TBH … Chemistry worked, but at what cost?” The audience criticized the show’s estimated arc and strong views and the depth deficiency despite the leads chemistry.
There were also mild reactions, such as a fan said, “My oh-so serious husbands are enjoying it. Ishaan Khatar, however, is the fire.” It seems that the show has also received the audience among those who usually avoid romantic comedy.
Bhumi Pednekar also received a part of his praise. A fan posted, “Bhumi Pednekar aims as Sophia. Strong, independent and stylish. Royals naked it.” Another fan praised the show’s performance, tweeting, “Royals brings a new approach to Rome-Com’s. Settings, costumes, music-all are at some point.” Aesthetics, Royal Backdrops and Sleek Styling have made the show a visual treatment for many people.
Pinkvilla’s review expressed the overall vibe: “Royals make this promise that makes it promise; an easy-lovely, visually attractive Rome-Com-Com-Com-Com is perfect for a low-priest biping.
With the correct mixture of elegance and emotion, the Royals are making a stylish splash, even if it has not affected everyone equally. Whether for music, the lead pair chemistry, or Royal Vibes, the show has found its way into online conversations.
