In her caption, Francesca Tighe called crispy lentils the “perfect crunchy topping”. “I put them on everything, but they’re especially great with salads and roasted vegetables”, she added. The ingredients needed include canned or pre-cooked lentils, olive oil, salt and “other spices of your choice”. To prepare crispy lentils, Francesca recommends preheating the oven to 200C/392F. After that, the lentils should be drained before placing them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Seasoning with olive oil and salt is the next step.
The final few steps involve “mixing everything well to make sure they are well coated. Roast in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes, stirring them from time to time to make sure they get crispy on all sides. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or in the fridge for a few weeks, always best to check and smell!” Reactions started pouring in immediately. “I wanted to try the crispy dal! Looks awesome,” commented a keen food enthusiast.
