The Olympic torch relay will highlight the beauty of France
The events are scheduled to begin on July 26, 2024. Before the grand procession, the Olympic Torch Relay is a tradition that cannot be missed. This tradition goes back to the roots of sport and promotes sports in its various forms. On May 8, 2024, the Olympic torch begins its epic journey across France while providing a unique insight into the beauty of the country.

The torch will travel to some of the most prominent and beautiful places in France, starting with the Lascaux Caves, after which it will head to the Alesia archaeological site, the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Palace of Versailles and many other landmarks. The torch will illuminate some of France’s most famous architectural wonders such as Mont Saint-Michel, the castles of the Loire Valley, as well as many lighthouses, bridges, viaducts and arenas. The torch will also visit some of the country’s monuments such as the Verdun Memorial and the D-Day landing beaches.

This torch relay serves as a tribute to France’s history and the people who have been part of it. The Olympic Torch Relay focuses on the beauty of the country by passing through famous landmarks such as the Verdon Regional Natural Park, the Mont-Blanc Valley, Mont Canigou as well as many other popular lakes and national parks.
The route also passed peaks such as the Pic du Midi de Bigorre as well as many other beautiful coastlines, oceans and seas, and eventually reached France from Greece.
