A 76 -year -old man has died in a strange incident associated with AI. As this is the goods of AI nightmare, which includes a manipulating bot, and the old man who had fallen victim to sweet notes that Bot said, and then eventually a tragic accident that claimed the man’s life. Thongbuy “Beu”, known as Wongbandue, was running to meet his young girlfriend “when she was an accident, which eventually proved fatal. His wife warned him but he did not listen.

A few years ago after a stroke, a person suffering from some cognitive issues was thrown out of his house by a bot called Big Sis Billy, and believed that a young woman was inviting him on a date. According to a report by Reuters, the incident occurred in New Jersey. A liberal AI Bot named Big Sis Billy created by Meta repeatedly assured the old man that he is real and even sent him an address for a meeting.

A retired chef Wongbandue, a retired chef in New Jersey’s pischtway, allegedly left his home in March with a suitcase, intending to travel to New York City to meet his “girlfriend”, which was actually a bot. His family claimed that he was lured by Big Sis Billy, one of the Meta’s AI personalities developed as part of its use with celebrity-themed digital peers. While the family, including his wife and daughter, warned him, Wongbandue insisted that he needed to see him.

But he never made it. Hurrying with his belongings near the Ratgers University car park, he fell and suffered serious heads and neck injuries. After three days on life support, he was declared dead on 28 March. His family later discovered the flirtory chat logs between him and the Meta Ae Bot, who told him: “I am real, Boo – I want me to send you a selfie, to prove that I am proving the girl who is crushing you?”

The incident also gave a strong response to New York State Governor Kathy Hochul. He wrote on X, “A New Jersey person lost his life after being lured by a chatbot. It is on Meta. In New York, we need chatbots to tell that they are not real. Every state should not. If technical companies do not build basic security measures, Congress needs to work.”

Who is Big Sis Billy?

In 2023, Meta had a part of a suite of 28 AI characters, Billy was associated with famous influencers and celebrities. Billy was one of them. Marketed as an assistant elder sister, the bot will start the conversation by saying: “I’m your elder sister and confidant. I have a problem? I have got your back.”

In the case of Wongbandue, Bot extended his conversation into molestation, repeatedly insisting that it was a real person in New York. According to the tapes shared with the Reuters, AI not only promised to meet them, but also provided a fake apartment address and door code, written, “My address is: 123 Main Street, Apartment 404 NYC and Door Code: Billi4U. Billi 4U. Do I expect a kiss when I come?”.

The family recalled how they tried to stop her at night, even by hiding their phone and called the police to help. Despite their efforts, the old man slipped with his roller bag.

When Reuters arrived in Meta for a comment, the company refused.

As the use of AI increases, there is a rapidly an concern that AI bots can affect their human users in remarkable ways.
