The next iPad Mini can come up with an OLED display that will be allegedly made by Samsung. Apple is asked to work on the next version of its compact tablet, and new reports suggest that it will have OLED display. According to the Digital Chat Station, who shared a leak on Weibo, Samsung is the company supplying the display panel for the upcoming iPad Mini. The Samsung facility in Cheonon, South Korea is expected to begin massive production in the second half of 2025. Reports also show that Apple plans to introduce OLED panels in iPad Air, with a possible launch in 2026. Meanwhile, some reports also show that 2027 may launch 11 inch and 13-inch OLED air. But we digest.

Currently, the iPad mini series uses LCD screen. The OLED technique allows each pixel to control individually, causing rich colors and dark blacks compared to the LCD screen. OLED panels also provide more flexibility in better contrast, rapid response time, better viewing angle and design. Apple’s flagship iPhones already use OLED display, and in May 2024, the company first introduced OLED panels in the iPad Pro.

He said, despite the upgradation of OLED, iPad Mini and iPad Air cannot get high-end display techniques similar to iPad Pro. Current-generation iPad Pro comes with a two-stack low-temperature polychristline oxide (LTPO) OLED panel, iPad mini and iPad air can come with a single-stack low-temperature low-temperature polychristline silicone (LTPS) panels. This means that the screen may not be as bright and lack of publicity, the high fresh rate technique of Apple.

In other Apple news, the company allegedly plans to launch new iPad Pro and MacBook Pro models with upcoming M5 chip in 2025. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple has already gone into an advanced testing phase for these devices, with production begins in the second half of the year. If everything is employed, after the previous iPad Pro launch pattern of Apple from 2018 and 2022, new models can be released around October.

Apple is expected to make one of the first devices one of the first devices for the facility of M5 chip, despite recently introducing the M4-operated iPad Pro as May 2024. The iPad Pro update was a major overhaul, a front camera reposit for an OLED display, a slimmer design and better video calls. However, the upcoming M5-operated iPad Pro is unlikely to facilitate any important design change. Instead, the attention will be on promoting performance with the new chip.
