The Naked Gun Review: Liam, Pamela’s film is ridiculously foolish and it’s a good thing

In the iconic ‘Naked Gun’ franchise reboot of the franchise, Liam Neeson took surprisingly successful comedic turn as a detective Frank Drebin Jr., who is Bambling but well -meaning son Bambling but well -meaning son. Occasionally-dysfunctional police squad is assigned to protect them from closure, drabin should resolve a murder and stop a villain, planning to convert the world into “salvars”, which is using a dumsde disc (and cheerfully) named … using a plot device. Liam Neesen has threatened criminals, trained ‘Batman’, and chased wolves in snow. But after eating a lot of hotdogs, he does not prepare anything to see his pants almost. In ‘The Naked Gun’, Neeson threw himself in a fully developed comedic chaos.
The film does not pretend to be anything. It knows that this is stupid. It persuades that it is stupid. And it works, mostly because Neeson is completely, in the whole heart. He stumbled with wide -eyed confusion, perfect deadpain delivery, and a physicality through this absurd world, a surprisingly game for a person who usually punches bad people back to the streets.
The villain of the story played by Danny Huston with an over-the-top flare, using a disk called plot device, is on a mission to re-create humanity resources by converting them into scavengers. This is the level of meta-stupid which somehow makes the film feel brand and strangely smart. It is a script that is fun in itself while tripwing through vision gags, decorating and visual punchline, which comes faster than a wicked pigeon through a windshield.
Directed by Akiva Shefer, who co-written the script with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, however, the satirical comedy in the previous films in the Legacy Franchise is not close to one. Remember that previous films performed unwanted gags on politics (1994 release), well, the new ‘Naked Gun’ franchise chose baton with the new generation clules crime-fieters, but it is not as fast.
Pamela Anderson makes a brilliant comeback, bends into madness and shares attractively attractive chemistry with Neeson. Their scenes are simultaneously sprayed with both classic Rome-Com stress, and at one point, Fondu explodes. Do not ask However, Pamela is not given enough to show her acting chops in isolation.
You do not expect emotional arcs or cinematic subtlety in this film, you go for laughter. And you will laugh. Whether it is a demonic snowman or an owl is helping Liam in an important climate scene, the film knows how to dial the absurd dial sufficiently to stay pleasant.
‘The Naked Gun (2025)’ is a masterclass in the committed chaos. It is foolish, it is self-conscious, and it is still in its own indifference that it sticks to landing. ‘The Naked Gun’ is now in theaters.
