Apple’s next generation of iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are seen as a large upgrade, at least based on early leaks. Due to rumors, we can see a re-designed camera module, a new A19 Pro chip and a collision for 12 GB RAM. Pro models may also be slightly more compact, a surprising step given that the iPhone 16 Pro is actually increased in size, so far 6.3-inch display vs. is offering a 6.1-inch display on the iPhone 15 Pro.
One of the largest upgrade in the iPhone 17 Pro series is called the A19 Pro Chip. This is expected to be manufactured using the TSMC’s third generation 3Nm process, which should improve both performance and power efficiency. While the annual chip upgrade of Apple usually focuses on gradual improvement rather than mass leap, this new processor will probably increase overall speed and AI-related functions.
In addition to the new chip, the iPhone 17 Pro model is rumored to come up with 12GB RAM, an increase from 8GB found in iPhone 16 Pro. Analyst Jeff Pu It is claimed that this upgrade will help improve multitasking and Apple intelligence facilities. While some earlier reports suggested that only Prof. Max would increase RAM, PU Emphasized that both Pro models would benefit from upgrade.
Perhaps the most noticeable change will be in the camera department. Instead of familiar square camera collision, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max expect a large rectangular camera island with round corners. Despite the new size, Apple is likely to maintain its triangular lens system.
The camera is also set to improve hardware. The iPhone 17 Pro model is rumored to facilitate 48-megapixel telephoto camera, which is from 12-megapixel one found in the iPhone 16 Pro. On the front, Apple is reportedly upgrading the selfie camera to a 24-megapixel sensor, double the resolution of the current iPhones.
In an interesting innings, the Apple Pro can move away from the titanium for the model. After introducing the titanium with the iPhone 15 Pro, the company is now rumored to switch to an aluminum frame with a part-glass, part-aluminum back. While aluminum is mild, it remains to be seen whether it will feel the same premium as the titanium.
The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to include Apple’s first in-house Wi-Fi 7 chip in the series, replacing the broadcom chips used in the previous model. Cooling is another area where Apple is improving. Internal design changes can lead to better heat dissipation, which helps the devices to maintain extreme performance for a long time.
Apart from professionals, Apple is also expected to change its standard lineup. The iPhone 17 Plus is rumored to be replaced by a slimmer model called iPhone 17 Air, which features a single rear camera placed in the bar-style module. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 17 is likely to place the vertical camera layout offered with the iPhone 16, making it the only model in the lineup without a major redesign.
Like the previous model, the iPhone 17 series is expected to be launched in September 2025. In the coming months, more leaks and details are likely to emerge, giving us a clear picture as expected.
