There has been a late pattern. Apple launched something and a crowd gathers on social media and starts taking potshots in the company. Now, some things that are fans of apples – and who are not fans – say that in reality. There are nothing. For example, those kidney jokes? They are unnecessary, as Yoda would say. In recent years, another joke has been added to the list: is Apple compatible with this new thing that Apple has launched? If it is “compatible” then there are jokes around it. If it is not “compatible” – then there is something that is this time – there are jokes about it.

After the iPhone 17 launch, if you go on social media and search for Apple polishing clothes, you will see these jokes. Just to give you an idea, here is one on X aka Twitter: “Breaking: Apple’s polishing cloth is not currently compatible with the iPhone 17 series.”

Now, obviously the whole thing is ridiculous. Because you see that nothing is compatible or incompatible about a polishing dress and some gadgets.

But the origin of the joke lies in the fact that Apple goes to overboard with its documents around the products, like any other God-fierce and legally-untouchable organization. This means that even writing and saying that are unnecessary, for example, on the product page of fabric declaring its “compatibility” with different apple products. And Apple updates this page regularly after every launch.

This time the page has not been updated yet. It may be that Apple iPhone 17 and other new products will update it by the time they go on sale. Or maybe Apple has decided to allow it to happen. Because in any way it does not matter. Except for something on social media, who see a chance to take some potshots in Apple. And they are catching the opportunity whether it means any meaning or not.
