Rashmika Mandanna starrer The Girlfriend releases on the big screens today, November 7, 2025. Directed by Rahul Raveendran, the film stars Dixit Shetty and Anu Emmanuel in the co-lead roles.

The Girlfriend is a romantic drama starring Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. The story revolves around a young woman named Bhooma, raised by her single father, who has recently enrolled in a college in Hyderabad to pursue a master’s degree in English literature.
In the same college, he meets Vicky, a student from another department. After spending a movie night together, the two fall in love and soon enter a relationship, even though Bhuma was initially hesitant.
Soon, Bhuma realizes that Vicky is a control freak who starts involving himself in every aspect of her life. What follows is a turbulent tale in which the protagonist must break free from a toxic relationship, despite receiving little support from his father or friends.
Apart from the lead cast, the film also stars Rao Ramesh and Rohini in important roles. The music is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab of Hi Nanna fame, cinematography by Krishnan Vasanth and editing by Chhota K Prasad.
