A fan of actor Rajinikanth celebrated 50 years of superstar in cinema in a unique way. He decorated a temple with thousands of posters as a tribute to the ‘Coolie’ actor’s legacy.

A fan of actor Rajinikanth recently paid him a unique tribute. He decorated a temple with 5,500 posters, symbolizing 50 years of the actor in the Indian film industry.
Karthik, a dying fan of Rajinikanth, observed the Arulmigu Shri Rajni Temple and celebrated the superstar 50 years, as told by ANIFan performed Abhishekam (The Hindu rituals of bathing the image of a deity with holy substances such as water, milk, or honey in the temple dedicated to the actor with 5,500 photographs, which is often accompanied by chanting mantras).
The temple was built around Kartik’s house in Madurai in 2023. He converted a portion of his house space into a temple, where he also installed the actor’s statue. According to Karthik, the statue of Rajinikanth weighs 250 kg. In an earlier interview with ANIHe had said, “For us, Rajinikanth is God. I have built a temple for him as a mark of respect.”
Rajinikanth’s next release director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action-drama is ‘Cooli’. It is considered one of the most anticipated films of 2025 due to an actor-director partnership. Kanagarj has first directed actors Vijay in ‘Leo’ (2023) and actor Kamal Haasan in Vikram (2022).
The ‘Coolie’ Yash Raj Films, released on August 14, 2025, will hit with ‘War 2’. The film consists of actors Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR and Kiara Advani. Despite the competition, Rajinikanth film has seen positive response in its advance booking.
In Kerala, ‘Coolie’ has sold around 200,000 tickets, which earn more than Rs 3 crore, pre-resulting. According to the business website SacnilkThe enthusiasm is clear, initial sales reach 50,000 tickets per hour.
