BSNL is soon set to launch its commercial 5G services under the Quantum 5G banner in India. By setting up the state -run telco towers and increasing capacity according to the latest news, 90,000 of them are already up and running. To celebrate milestone, BSNL has announced a limited time preacher “Flash Sale” event, where it is giving 400GB high-speed 4G data at a rate of Rs 1 per GB.
From June 28, the BSNL users are eligible to get a new special data recharge pack of Rs 400, which gives them the right to get 400GB data with a validity of 40 days. The scheme runs through 1 July. Since it is a data recharge, it is necessary for users to buy it in combination with the current plan. There are no calling or SMS benefits – just 400GB data. The BSNL indicates that the data will remain unlimited as “speed reduces up to 40 kbps”.
BSNL recently announced that its 5G services-commercials as well as the enterprise-quantum would be launched in the name of 5G or Q-5G. The name was outsourced from the public. As part of the rollout commission, BSNL unveiled FWA, or select wireless access service called Quantum 5GFWA, for select circles and enterprises in cities, provides customers to high speed connectivity without the requirement of SIM cards. Telco is running 5G tests for commercial use in Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Kolkata, Patna, Hyderabad and Chennai.
BSNL 5G is being billed as the next generation telecom network, which is made indigenously from ground-up. Supported by a consortium and Tejas network, C-dot, and ITI, led by TCS, are behind the project with the latter deployment required in the next few weeks, if not months. To be able to offer 5G services PAN India, BSNL is doubling on 4G towers, which are also all 5G-red, which is the target to reach 100,000 soon, thus accelerate service deployment and availability.
With flash sales, BSNL wants to clearly manufacture publicity and encourage people about the launch of BSNL 5G, which is adjacent. With Telco, a formal name, the rollout can now be any day, especially given that the operation was expected to start in June 2025.
