‘The Batman 2’ will begin shooting in 2025, writer Mattson Tomlin confirms
Mattson Tomlin, writer of the much-anticipated sequel to ‘The Batman’, has confirmed that filming will begin next year. He expressed his excitement and highlighted the high expectations attached to the project.

The shooting of the sequel to Matt Reeves’ much-awaited film ‘The Batman’ is set to begin next year, writer Mattson Tomlin has revealed. In a recent statement to an entertainment portal Screen RantTomlin expressed her excitement and admiration for the project, and highlighted the high expectations for the sequel.
Tomlin reflected on his collaboration with director Matt Reeves, saying, “It’s shooting next year. We’re preparing, and I would say the level couldn’t be higher. It’s a sequel to the first one. But there’s no one like Matt.”
Having worked closely with Reeves for the past five years, Tomlin emphasized the director’s commitment to art in a challenging industry. “I’m so grateful for the time I spent with him because he’s a true artist working in a world where sometimes art can’t thrive, and he’s trying to create something that really matters.”
Tomlin’s excitement for the project is evident as she described being a part of the creative process as “pretty incredible, pretty overwhelming.” She also expressed her excitement for the upcoming film, saying, “Just being on this journey and being a part of that process, it’s pretty incredible, pretty overwhelming. I’m excited for the movie.”

The first installment of ‘The Batman’, featuring a star cast including Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, was a huge success.
The film grossed over $750 million at the global box office, setting a high standard for its sequels.
