In April this year, Tecno launched the Pova 6 Neo, a 4G phone with a big battery. Now the company is going to launch a 5G model which has the same name but has many special differences.
Tecno Pova 6 Neo 5G
The Tecno Pova 6 Neo 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6300 processor. It has 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage (UFS 2.2). You can double the RAM (up to 16GB) with the Virtual RAM option. Most importantly, the 5G model has a microSD slot for expanding storage (the 4G model did not have this option).

Another big upgrade – which Tecno claims is a first in this price segment – is the 108MP camera. The company hasn’t revealed which sensor it has used, but it says it offers 3x in-sensor zoom.
Talking about the price, the 6/128GB model is priced at ₹12,000 ($145/€130), while the 8/256GB model costs slightly more at ₹13,000 ($155/€140). These prices are with a discount of ₹1,000 and you can get an additional ₹1,000 off with an exchange deal. The 4G Neo is not available in India, so we cannot compare the price directly.
Anyway, the 4G and 5G models cannot be directly compared as there are even more differences. The new 5G model has a smaller 6.67” IPS LCD (120Hz) with only HD+ resolution, while the newer one has a 6.78” 120Hz IPS LCD with FHD+ resolution. The 4G model also has a 50MP camera.

There’s no longer the massive 7,000mAh battery and 33W charging that the 4G model features. Instead, the Pova 6 Neo 5G has a regular 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging. The good thing is that it now has some dust and water resistance with an IP54 rating.
This is quite rare in cheap phones in India, but this Neo has “all directional” NFC. The 4G model also has NFC. Both phones also have stereo speakers.
