Ayushmann Khurrana talks about ‘bloody’ love story Thaama, calls it ‘very unique’
Ayushmann Khurrana expressed his excitement about his unique role in the horror-comedy love story Thaama, joining Dinesh Vijan’s cinematic universe.
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana joins producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe with a ‘bloody’ love story titled Thaama. The actor has played the role of a vampire in the film. Finally, Ayushmann talks about the project and what inspired him to take up the role.
Ayushmann Khurrana has kept the name of his upcoming film. “Extremely Unique”. He added, “The fact that Thama is the horror comedy universe’s first love story makes it even more exciting! The promise of being a ‘bloody’ love story is also an extremely unique and compelling pitch for today’s audiences who want chaos. Are- breaking down dramatic experiences.”
“I have always been looking for such unique projects throughout my career and I am grateful that brilliant directors and filmmakers have considered me to direct such films. Thaama is the project of a lifetime for me and I know That I will contribute my heart and soul to the people is expected to love it unanimously,” he said.

Talking about joining the horror comedy universe as Thama, Ayushmann said, “I am excited that Dinesh Vijan thinks it is the best time for me to enter his blockbuster horror comedy universe and as Thama. It’s a good time, after making Stree 2. I am thrilled to be a part of the legacy of this universe and I am also responsible for giving the audience a dramatic experience! Feeling that they will remember for years to come.
This is the actor’s second collaboration with Dinesh Vijan after Bala in 2019. Talking about the same, Ayushmann said, “Dinesh and I have a similar passion for disruption. Our film Bala was a project that made people jump out of their seats. It was really refreshing. Thaama is our second collaboration and it’s so new that I can’t wait for people’s reaction when they watch it in theaters next Diwali.”
He further added, “We are attracted to each other when we want to completely break the mold and give the audience something they have never seen before. Thaama is that project, a complete wildcard , a film that no one has seen in India. I am really excited to be on the sets of this film and be on the big screen with the entire team of fellow visionaries like Dinesh and Amar Kaushik, my director Aditya Sarpotdar and the writing genius Niren Bhatt. Excited to create a great experience.
Thaama is expected to release in Diwali next year. the movie is Dinesh Vijan’s latest addition to the horror-comedy world after StreeWoman 2, Munjya and the wolf. Along with Ayushmann, Thaama also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles.
