After launching his political party in February this year, Thalapathy Vijay had announced that he was planning to quit acting to focus on his political ambitions. Needless to say, the announcement came as a surprise to fans of the Beast actor, and also gave rise to several questions.
One of the most prominent questions was about the actor’s role in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Cinematic Universe (LCU), whose connection was established with the 2023 film Leo. However, according to the latest reports, it has been answered. According to a report by IndiaGlitz, Thalapathy Vijay’s presence in Kaithi 2, which is the next film of the LCU, is not confirmed, but it is likely that the actor will lend his voice to the film.
Thalapathy Vijay will lend his voice in Kaithi 2
In an interview earlier this year, Lokesh Kanagaraj had revealed that Kaithi 2 will feature all the characters from LCU so far. This means that the film will feature Kamal Haasan as Vikram, Karthi as Dilli, Surya as Rolex and even Thalapathy Vijay as Leo/Parthiban.
However, the Mersal actor will not be making a physical appearance in the film but will only play a voice role, reports Indiaglitz. It is also reported that the film is likely to release by the end of next year.
What we know about the LCU so far
As reported earlier, Lokesh Cinematic Universe or LCU for short, is the brainchild of renowned director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The universe currently has three films, Karthi starrer 2019 film Kaithi, Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram and Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo.
Moreover, it also features a star-studded cast including Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Arjun Das, Surya, and many others will be seen in pivotal roles. Talking about the LCU, Lokesh Kanagaraj has mentioned that the Universe will have more films starting with Kaththi 2 and Vikram 2, and will also include a standalone film on Surya’s character Rolex. However, the direction in which the Maanagaram director takes the Universe is something that will only be known with time.
